Sussex Indoor Championships at Sutton Arena
Lewes AC were well represented at the Sussex Indoors Athletic Championships at the Sutton Arena. In the senior men’s pole vault Sam Brown picked up the gold medal with a vault of 4.40m. Not to be outdone Livvy Connor also won gold in under 15 the pole vault with a vault of 3.20m. Close behind was Vicky Warren in second position with 2.40m and Polly Saunders in 4th with 2.30m. In the under 17 men’s category James Shackleton also came first with a vault of 3.30m
In the 60m sprints Tom Woodall in the Senior men’s category came third in a time of 7.71secs with Aaron Guilford picking up the silver medal in the under 20 men’s 60m sprint in 7.44secs. In the lower age groups Rhys Camis in the under 15 boys 60m sprint came third in 7.86secs. In the 60m sprint under 13 category Samson Page was second in 8.94secs and Bill Saunders third in 9.05secs. Samson was also second in the long jump with a leap of 3.89m.
Ella James picked up the silver medal in the under 17 women’s high jump with a leap of 1.60m. and Luke Bish in the under 15 boys high jump came 2nd with a jump of 1.35m
Livvy Connor had a very busy Championships and was first in the long jump with a leap of 6.62m and second in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.77secs. Luck Bish in the under 15 boy’s 60m hurdles was second in a time of 12.23secs. In the under 13 girls 60m sprint Grace Salter was second in 8,88secs and Eloise Smetham 5th in 9.72secs.
