Rising Star Ava James Impresses at European U18 Championships in Slovakia
Congratulations to LAC’s Ava James for her outstanding performance representing Team GB at the 2024 European Athletics U18 Championships in Slovakia.
The 2024 European Athletics U18 Championships, the fourth edition of this biennial event, showcased the continent’s top young athletes aged fifteen to seventeen. Held at the Národný Atletický Štadión in Banská Bystrica from July 18 to 21, the competition brought together future stars of European athletics.
Ava excelled in her steeplechase heat, finishing second and setting a new personal best of 6:44.37. She maintained this impressive time in the final on Saturday, where she ran another strong race and secured 7th place with the same time.
We are immensely proud of Ava’s achievements, especially considering she competed in two demanding races within three days and emerged as one of the top athletes in Europe at just 15 years old. Ava’s dedication and talent are truly inspiring, and we look forward to her future successes on the track.
