Sussex Indoor Championships

Held at Sutton arena over last weekend. The normal poor turn out from Lewes AC, with only seven athletes turning out. Emilie Blackwell continued her excellent start to the season adding another 10cm to her own pb and U15 G Pole Vault record (2.70m) to take the gold. Congratulations to the men’s XC team on their second promotion in the Sussex County XC League Division 3 to Division 2 in the first season. Now Division 2 Champions. The first Division next season will need 6 men to score. A challenge to be faced!

Horsham 50m Sprints & 50m Hurdles

Thursday 19th February saw two Lewes athletes competing in the third Horsham open 50m Sprints and Hurdles held at Broadbridge Heath. Olivia Conner twice equalled her own club U13 girls 50m sprint record of 7.6. Emilie Blackwell set a new club record of 8.6 seconds in the 50m hurdles. Aviva England Athletics Indoor Championships.

Just two from Lewes entered the UK indoors championships at Birmingham held on Saturday14th /Sunday/15th February. Naomi Lee came seventh in the U15G Pole Vault, raising her seasons best to 2.25m. Jim Day Memorial Pole Vault Comp

Saturday 20th September at Normans Park. Four Lewes athletes travelled to the Jim Day Memorial Pole Vault comp. Sam Brown cleared 4.02 Chris Pilling Cleared 3.82 Emilie Blackwell Cleared 2.42 a new U15G club record. Naomi Lee also cleared 2.42 a new U13G club record a height which also takes her to number three on the UK all time lists.
