There was also great news for the club and for Lewes when Rob Mullett currently in the USA texted to say that he had achieved the B qualifying standard for the Olympic 3,000m Steeple Chase with a run of 8mins 31.62secs. Rob is one of only three in the UK that have achieved this Olympic qualifying mark.

Lewes competitors for Sunday’s Horsham 10k were somewhat depleted, owing to a clash with the Bognor 10k and with other events. In the Trundle Hill Downland Race at Lancing on Wednesday 16th May there were eight Lewes members competing in a race with 326 competitors. First for Lewes was Pablo Ibarguren who has currently hit fine form finishing in 10th position in a time of 40mins 47secs.
