Medal success for Lewes AC runners at the Sussex Cross Country Championships
Leading the medal chase by Lewes AC athletes at the Sussex Cross Country Championships were the Senior Women’s team. Both came away with medals Jack Harris claimed the Silver in the U17m Pole Vault equalling the indoor club record with a 3.90m vault. Competing in the Metaswitch Indoor Games at Lee Valley Athletics Centre on Sunday 11th December. Gemma Tutton became only the third UK U13 female athlete to clear 3m in the Pole Vault. Lewes AC runners take to the hills and far away
With two tough races taking place over the Sussex Downs during the weekend 53 Lewes AC runners rose to the challenge and secured some fantastic results. The toughest and longest was the Beachy Marathon which with 26.2 miles, many steep hills, 300 steps and 14 gates can rightly claim its reputation as the tough one.
