Anouska Fairhurst U15 Javelin

Anouska Fairhurst has her first outing as an U15 Javelin thrower. Her throw of 39.40m at Gillingham in the YDL league destroyed the Lewes U15 girls record adding 10.56m to the previous mark. She goes straight to the top of the UK rankings and is just 95cm away from the Sussex record.

The Sussex Indoor Championships had its normal poor entry numbers however a few from Lewes did make the trip to Carshalton and came back with seven medals and two club records. The Lewes AC women’s team won the Sussex Athletics cross country league. Held over four tough and testing courses at Goodwood, Lancing Manor, Stanmer Park and Hickstead Show Ground the team were convincing winners.
