National Cross Country Championships, Parliament Hill Fields, 25 February 2012
On a sunny Saturday 25th February Lewes AC had nine athletes competing in the various age groups in ‘The National’ at Parliament Fields in London. Pride of place must go to Angel Collins who was 65th overall in the under 20 women’s competition and the first Sussex runner in a time of 26mins 24sec. Lizzie Keep finished 89th in the same age group in a time of 29mins 06secs.
Catlin Lloyd also had a great race in the senior women category finishing in 100th place in 32mins 34secs in race with 650 finishers. In the under 15 girls race Eve Rothwell finished in 242nd place in a time of 17mins 57secs and Faith Daughtery competing in the under17 women category finished in 163rd in a time of 24mins 24secs.
Not to be outdone there were three finishers in the under 15 boys event with Patrick McManus finishing in 149th position in a time of 17mins 08secs; Connor Sullivan 247th in a time of 18mins 11secs and Tom Lambert 322nd in a time of 19mins 41secs. In the under 13 boys race Sam Rogers returning from injury had a really great run finishing 69th in 11mins 59secs.
