Muddy success for Lewes AC in the Plumpton Cross Country
Competing in the Sussex Cross Country League at Plumpton Agricultural College on Sunday 24th November the Lewes AC senior men had tremendous success. In a notoriously muddy and wet course made even more challenging by the current weather the team won the second division race in the league by a staggering 100 points. Their score would also have won the first division of the league beating the Plumpton winners Brighton and Hove AC by 5 points.
The Senior Men’s team having set themselves the target of being promoted from the second division to the first division for next year look well on course to achieve their aim and from this performance will compete well in the 2013/14 season.
The star Lewes AC runners in the first 50 finishers out 170 competitors were Josh Burgess (7th): David Bradford (10th): Robbie James (14th and first over 40 runner): Mike Ellicock (20th): Alan Velecky (29th): Matt Bradford (34th): Ben Savill (37): and Chris Gilbert (50th):
