Many Personal bests for Lewes AC athletes at Chichester 10K

On Sunday 3rd February there were 19 senior and veteran Lewes AC athletes competing in the Chichester 10K race. Four of the 18 Lewes runners finished in the top hundred which is a great result in a race with over 1,700 competitors from all over the UK.

There were great runs to beat their life time best times by David Bradford (38th 33.07), Matt Suter (78th 35.33) Tim Callifas (93rd 36.04), Matt Haycocks (218th 39.49) and Carolyn Bennett (592nd 46.38) all beating their times by some distance. David Bradford in particular narrowly missed breaking the 33 minute barrier by only seven seconds.

In the age group categories there were also some great results for Lewes runners with Peter Kennedy finishing as the first over 60 male runner in 227th place in a time of 40.05. Not to be out done Karin Divall was the third over 50 women in 474th position in a time of 44.54 and Carolyn Bennett 5th over 50 women in 592nd position in a time of 46.38. Sophie Southerden had a great debut run at this distance finishing in 463rd position in a time of 43.38.
