Many first and second places for the Under 15 athletes
It was a frantic competition weekend for the Club’s junior members up against all 10 Sussex track and field clubs in the under 15 league final at Crawley on the 6th September.
In the League final at the K2 Arena at Crawley there were a stack of 1st and 2nd positions across many event to help the Lewes AC team take a very creditable 4th team position in the final up against 10 teams.
In first position in the boys track events were Will Sutton in the 300m in a time of 41.3secs; Luca Bish in the 80m hurdles in 14.5secs and Sam Rogers in the 800m in 2mins 07.1secs.
In the field events the athletes winning their events were Jay Sinden in the long jump with a leap of 4.65m, Scott Staples in the Javelin A with a throw of 42.86m and Jordon Bowman in the B Javelin with 33.79m.
The girls winning their events were Grace Salter in the long jump with 4.14m and Lucy Thompson in the B pole vault with a vault of 2.40m.
The many second place finishes by Lewes AC athletes included Ethan Bickmore-Vaugh who was second in both the 100m and 200m with times of 12.1secs and 24.4sec respectively. Lucan Bish was second in the high jump with 1.45m and Scott Staple was second on the Pole Vault (B) with 2.90m. Also second in their events were James Linington in the A discus with a throw of 24.43m and Cameron Northcote-Green in the B event with 20.74m. The boy’s 4x100m relay team also secured second place with a run of 49.1secs.
The girls coming second in their events were Polly Saunders with a jump of 4.62m in the long jump and Millie Hemsley in the pole vault with a vault of 2.70m
