Lewes Athletes dominate Easter Monday Races
With much competition taking place over the Easter Weekend Lewes AC athletes had some great results. Running in the club’s own 10Km race on Easter Monday Lewes AC athletes took four of the first five places.
There was an even better result in the two mile race when the younger club athletes took all five first places.
First over the line in the 10Km race was Robbie James in a time of 34mins 52sec. In third position was David Bradford crossing the line in tandem with his brother Matt both with a time of 36.27. Just behind the brothers came Josh Burgess in fifth position overall.
The two mile race was won by Patrick McManus in a swift 11mins27secs followed by Aiden Briffett in 11mins 50secs. In third position was Connor Sullivan (12.05) and in fourth position and first female was Maddy Smith (12.17) with Sam Rogers making up the first five in a time of 12.18. Maddy’s success in being the first female in the two mile race reflected the success she had at the Sussex Road Relay Championships held on Easter Saturday when she was the second fastest under 17 runner of the all clubs competing.
