Podium Places and PBs: Young Lewes Academy Sportshall Athletes Make Their Mark in Worthing

Sunday, 26th January, saw the final Sportshall for this Season take place in Worthing, and what a fantastically inspirational day it was!
Young athletes from every single club pushed themselves to their absolute limits to gain as many points for their club as possible, and Lewes athletes were amazing!
In total, we had only half a team of athletes competing compared to other clubs and still managed to improve from 160 points in round 2 to 243.5 points in round 3! This result is an excellent achievement for all the young athletes and meant that overall, Lewes came 6th.
Everyone participated so well and gained many points for Lewes.
Some young athletes achieved PBs and impressive podium places.

A special shout-out has to go to all the under-11 boys who ran in the non-scoring one-lap sprint! They were terrific, and all clocked in speedy times that were almost identical!
Every athlete should be proud of their performances and overcoming those pre-event nerves!!
I see the potential of how well Lewes Academy can do with entire teams for all age groups, in both Boys and Girls categories.
There is no reason why Lewes cannot be in the top three in all the competitions we enter!
Team spirit is building in the Lewes Team, and Lewes Academy Athletes are gaining a positive reputation for being fabulous athletes amongst their competitors.
Regional and County coaches are always watching out for athletes who also show their full strength and ability.
Let’s make it our goal to have complete competing teams ready and available for the 2025 Outdoor Track Season and the next Sporthall!
Lewes has excellent young athletes, and points are given to every individual in the scoring events, regardless of their placement. So please know you contribute to the Team points even if you are frustrated that you did not gain a 1st, 2nd or 3rd placement. You are all Brilliant!
Thank you to everyone who helped out on the day. The bigger our Team gets, the more help we need!
With Smiles, Emma Love and Lewes Academy Team.
