Lewes AC continue to top the West Sussex Fun Run League

With 17 races held throughout the year Lewes AC have so far won 9 of the 10 events completed so far. The latest race held at Henfield the club again scored the maximum 85 points to keep a few points ahead of Burgess Hill Runners the club’s closest rivals from the 18 clubs that make up the league.

Leading the maximum point scoring tally with 10 points each were Mark Cage in first place in the race with a time of 23mins 31secs followed in second place by John Stoddart who was just 5 seconds behind in 23.46 but again scoring10 points. Also scoring 10 points each were Mat Bass in 7th place with 25.52 and Gustavo Iriarte even closer behind in 8th place with in 25.54. The last 10 point men’s scorer was Colin Bennett in 10th place in 26.06.

Equally contributing to the Lewes AC unbeatable score were the Lewes women led by Maria Barrow as the first woman home in a time of 26.23. This place also scored 10 points for the Lewes team. Megan Taylor was the 4th women in the race in 27.22 followed by Helen Sida as 5th women home in 27.51 both scoring 10 points. Also scoring 10 points and as the 7th women finisher was Alice Gleadon in a time of 28.46.

In total Lewes AC had 29 runners competing in the race all contributing points towards the maximum possible under the league rules. The other male runners with their positions in the race and times were Ed Tuckley (15th 26.16); Andrew McLenna (17th 26.18); Ian Fines (21st 26.51) Gyles Abbott (24th 27.07); Mat Homewood (35th 28.17); Andrew Chitty (37th 28.27); Aaron Barnard (43rd 28.59); Dominic Osman-Allu (49th 29.12); David Foster (54th 29.24); Peter Miller (86th 32.26); Geoff Watson (87th 32.35); Stephen Delaney (100th 33.50); Hugh St John (106th 34.17); Colin Hartland (116th 35.23)
