Great results in the Hellingly 10K

On the 8th September the adults were in action at the Hellingly 10K road race where Lewes AC runners took up three places in the first 10 in a race with nearly 300 runners.

First club member in 4th position in a time of 34m 07sec was Dave Bradford followed closely by Tom Morris in 6th position in a time of 35mins 30secs who in turn was followed by Chris Gilbert in 9th position in 36mins 11secs. Chris was also the second veteran runner to finish in the race.

These positions should guarantee Lewes AC taking the team prize.

The Hellingly 10K in one of four races that make up the Harvey Curtis sponsored Sussex Road Race Challenge. Currently Dave Bradford lies second in the challenge followed by his brother Matt in third position with the Lewes AC team lying in third position behind teams from Hastings and Brighton and Hove.

The great results achieved at the Hellingly 10K will add great points to both the individual and teams scores leading into the final races in the Challenge series..

Another great performance at Hellingly was that by Lara Barazzuol who in one of her first races for the club finished in a time of 44mins 58sec. This gave Lara not only an overall finishing position of 99th but also made her the 11th female to finish. The club had 22 runners competing.
