Lewes Athletic Club’s Dave Leach named Sussex Athletics Association President

Lewes Athletic Club is delighted to announce that Dave Leach, the club’s long-time Endurance Coach and club member, has been appointed President of The Sussex Athletics Association. Members made his appointment official at the Annual General Meeting of the Association on Friday, 18th October.
Dave Leach succeeds Phil Baker from the Chichester club in this prestigious role. Reflecting on the transition, the Sussex Athletics Association expressed its appreciation for both leaders, stating on its website, “Phil Baker and Dave Leach have spent decades supporting athletics at both club and county levels. We are deeply grateful for Phil’s unwavering service and extend a warm welcome to Dave as the new figurehead.”
In addition to Dave’s appointment, Sussex Athletics Association recognised Lewes Athletic Club Treasurer Pete Miller for his exceptional service to athletics. He was appointed vice president in an honorary role that acknowledged his significant contributions to the county’s athletics growth and development.
With Peter Masters from Lewes Athletic Club chairing the Association’s Athletics Development Committee, these appointments mark an exciting chapter for The Sussex Athletics Association, with Lewes Athletic Club well represented at the helm of county leadership.
Sussex County Athletics Association organises competitions and league matches for all age groups, spanning track and field, cross-country, and road-running events.
