A string of good results for Lewes AC at the Sussex Grand Prix
Lewes AC are gradually improving their position in the 2013 Sussex Grand Prix road running league. With 9 out of 20 races completed the men’s open and vets teams are both lying 5th, and the women’s open and vets teams are both lying 12th, out of a total of about 23 clubs in the league.
Lewes AC put on a particularly good performance at the most recent race, the Worthing 10k on 5th June. Matthew Bradford came 3rd overall and first out of the runners from Sussex Grand Prix affiliated clubs, therefore scoring the maximum possible 500 points. David Bradford (5th) scored 498, Josh Burgess (6th) scored 497, Chris Gilbert (10th) 496 and Lewis Sida (38th) 485. In the women’s race Lizzie Keep came 8th and scored 495, Karin Divall (17th) scored 491 and Faith Daughtery (32nd) 485. The top three placed men – Matthew and David Bradford and Josh Burgess – won the men’s club team prize for the race, repeating the club men’s achievement at the Horsham 10k in May.
