Lewes AC runners win team and individual awards in the Hellingly 10K
Having a tremendous race the Lewes AC women’s team scooped the team prize over the teams of Hailsham Harriers and Wadhurst Runners.
Leading the Lewes team was Emma Rollings who finished 3rd women overall in a time of 39mins 40secs. Next in the team of four was Megan Taylor who was the 4th woman to finish in the race in a time of 40.34 followed by Shelly Cornes as 10th women finisher in 45.35. Completing the winning team was Karin Divall who finished as 14th woman in the race with a time of 46.35.
As well as winning the first team prize the Lewes AC women also won individual prizes with Emma Rolling securing first in the women aged over 35 category and Megan Taylor and Shelly Cornes coming 2nd and 3rd in the Senior Women category. Karin Divall also secured an individual prize as second finisher in the women aged over 55.
Not to be completely up staged by the women Colin Bennett was the first man to finish in the men aged over 45 in a time of 39mins 19secs.
Other Lewes AC runners competing in the race and their times were – Mike Green (28th 39.44); Ian Fines (45th – 42.17); Chris Coffey (57th – 43.16); Karen Morse (121st – 48.07); David Feintuck (193rd – 53.53)
