Success at England Athletics under 15 and under 17 Championships

Whilst the Lewes AC veterans and under 13 athletes were battling it out for honours on the first September eight Lewes AC under 15 and under 17 athletes were competing in the England Athletics Championships at Bedford.

With more athletes from Lewes AC qualified to take part than any other Sussex Club there were some great performances.

Aidan Briffet as an under 15 clocked a new personal best and club record for the 1500m in a time of 4.24.01 in 8th position. Livvy Connor in the under 17 Pole Vault just missed a medal in 4th position with a vault of 3.60m which is yet another personal best and club record.

Jack Harris as an U13 competed in the U15 Pole Vault and came 9th with a vault of 2.90m and Polly Saunders and Milly Hemsley also competed in the PV and with vaults of 2.70m (new PB for Polly) and 2.60m came 11th and 14th respectively. Scott Staples in the U15 javelin secured 7th place with a throw of 47.78m

Sam Rogers in the 800m under 15 B race came 6th in a time of 2.10.3 which is a great performance considering Sam missed nearly a month of training due to holidays and injury.

Ethan Bickmore-Vaughan came 5th in his 200m heat with a time of 24.10secs and 6th in his 100m heat in a time of 11.85secs.
