Brighton Half Marathon – Sunday17th February
On a glorious day for running 22 runners from the club joined 7,500 runners to take part in the Brighton Half Marathon. Robbie James was the star performer for the club finishing in 14th position and third over 40 man in a time of 1:15:10. Joscelin Lowden in her debut half marathon was the first Lewes AC woman in a time1:42:42.
There were also some great life time bests by Lewes runners perhaps helped by the good weather and running conditions. These included Pablo Ibarguren (1:24:18), Clive Spicer (1:26:32), Colin Bennett (1:26:59), Nick Parrish (1:27:39), Mauro Lazzati (1:29:46 which is 7-minute PB), Matt Haycocks , Andrew Chitty (1:36:20), Gustavo Iriarte (1:46:23 which is a 13 minute PB!), Faith Daughtery (1:43:44), Sarah Healy (1:47:15), and Estefania Gonzalez (1:55:11)
Whilst 22 club members were running another 23 club members were marshalling the course and were responsible for setting up the drinks station at the 4 mile mark to serve all 7,500 runners. Quite a task!
