Marathon Action by Lewes runners

Seeking marathon action over the weekend two Lewes AC runners took different routes to their own personal agony.

Sally Norris competed in the Beachy Head Marathon a tough multi-terrain event that starts and finishes at Eastbourne with the last few miles climbing the Seven Sisters Hills.

Andrew Masters sought action further afield and travelled to Germany to take part in the Frankfurt Marathon.

Sally had a tremendous race finishing as the 11th senior women in a time of 4 hours 28.59mins. With over 1,300 finishers this was a fine result by Sally.

Andrew taking part in his ‘away day’ marathon had an equally good result finishing in 3 hours 12.21mins. This placed him 293rd in his age category and 1607th overall out of the 12,000 finishers.

Andrew was Mr consistency in running the marathon with time splits of almost exactly 22.30mins for each 5K and 4.30mins for each kilometre of the 42k race.
