Lewes AC 50+ vets spread their wings
The Lewes AC team of vet over 50 runners took on the might of clubs from across the South of England and had a great result. Running in the 2019 SEAA road relays on the 22nd September at Crystal Palace and up against 24 other teams the band of Lewes runners not only had a very enjoyable day out but came in 6th
Leading the charge on the first of the laps of 6100km was Mike Usher with a time of 20.36.30. Next up was Jonathon Burrell with a time of 21.12.60. Following Jonathon was Rick Curtis who whilst used to running incredibly long races dropped down to what was a sprint event for him and finished with a time of 20.38.30. Running the last lap was Lewis Sida who not only made up three places but with his time of 20.09.90 was only beaten by eleven runners out of the 88 that competed in the relays. Onward and upwards the team are now looking to compete in the Southern Masters cross county on the 7th December.
