Sussex U13 & Quadkids champioships
Sunday 4th July at K2 centre Crawley saw the first Sussex U11 Quadkids championships. A large field saw only three Lewes athletes competing.
Matt Pickering ran the 75m in 11.8 the 600m in 2.01 jumped 1.86m in the standing long jump and threw the vortex howler 34.06m (some 8m further than any other competitor) to take the gold medal.
The Sussex U13 championships saw more Lewes athletes than normal entering. Full results can be found on the Sussex AA web site here are the Lewes medal winners.

U13G 800m 2.43.2 Ruby Whyte-Wilding Bronze medal.
U13G 70m Hurdles 12.6 Ruby Whyte-Wilding Gold medal.
U13G 4x100m relay 55.7 Ruby Whyte-Wilding, Jade Bowman, Millie Cable and Olivia Conner new club record.
The relay victory, which was also faster than the U13 Boys was made possible by a really gutsy performance from Ruby who dragged herself from her sickbed to compete, feeling very rough she had to compete in the 800m, if she had not started rules would have excluded her from the relay.
The U17M 3000m was also run on Sunday in which Ludo Goodliffe had an excellent run and cruised to victory in 9.30.6 some 45 seconds ahead of the second placed athlete.
Tim Calliafas picked up the bronze medal in a time of 10.46.9
