|Running for England in the Chester Marathon on the 8th October the husband and wife duo of Helen and Lewis Sida both had a great runs.
Helen was the star runner with first place in the women over 50 category in a time of 3 hours 08mins 43sec. This age category win placed Helen 18th woman overall in the race with over 2,500 finishers.
Lewis racing in the men aged over 45 category missed getting second place by just 6 seconds. His time of 2 hours 38mins 59secs placed him 20th in the race overall and third in his age category.
Also having a great race was Richard Curtis who finished well under the magic three hour barrier with a time of 2hours 57mins 16 secs. Running in the men aged over 50 Richard's time placed him 9th in his age category and 118th overall.
At the Sussex Cross County Relay Championships at Goodwood there were also some great results for Lewes AC teams. The senior men’s team won the gold team medal racing against 24 teams from across the county. Patrick Hough, Joss Burgess, Ben Savill and Tom Evans made up the team with Tom Evan coming away with the fastest lap.
Two Lewes AC teams came away from the Championship bronze medals. The girls’ under 13 team of Freya Hinds, Aimee Funnell and Bea Yelling had a great competitive run to win their bronze medal. Also the boys under 15 team of Jack Gardener, Atticus Mokapi-Dobre and Aaron Duncan had a competitive run to win their bronze medal.
